A little reminder to our fellow local businesses ❤️
Tonight, while I was away from the shop, a lady came in with a young girl and told my wife there had been an issue with three burgers she ordered last Saturday.
She first asked for a refund, and then said that I had promised to give her replacement burgers. My wife knew I hadn't mentioned anything about this, so she already felt that something wasn't quite right.
But seeing an older lady with a young girl, my wife thought they might be struggling. Instead of arguing with her, she chose to be kind and gave her the food anyway.
Unfortunately, while my wife was busy working in the kitchen preparing their food, our tip jar was taken from the counter.
To be honest, the money in the tip jar isn't what we're upset about. If someone is genuinely going through a difficult time, we can understand that life isn't always easy.
What is disappointing is seeing someone take advantage of another person's kindness.
We're sharing this mainly as a reminder to other local businesses: being kind is important, but unfortunately we still need to be careful that our kindness isn't taken advantage of.
Stay aware when you're busy, look out for your staff, and look out for each other. ❤️
