At least 13 people have died and 98 others have been injured after a train derailed in Mexico earlier today, with an investigation set to determine the cause of the incident.

The navy said 36 of the 250 people on board the train required hospital care, with the rest sustaining minor injuries after it derailed in Oaxaca, on the train's main line between Veracruz and Salina Cruz.
