🚨 UPDATE FROM THE CHICKEN COOP 🚨Passing of the tongs 1.7.26
In 1999, a baby-faced 28-year-old bought himself a chicken shop … with a 5 year plan. Turns out he signed up for 27 years of early mornings, long days, a whole lot of chicken, heaps of loyal regulars, suppliers and awesome staff who joined in the fun and helped him rotate those chooks!
Brett has flipped more birds (the good kind!) than he'd probably care to count, fed generations of this beautiful Devonport community, and somehow kept his sense of humour through it all, well mostly…
Now, as he’s turned into quite the old rooster, it's time for him to pass on the tongs — to Scottie, who's been flapping around this place since he was 14 — we’ve watched him grow into a strong bantam, and now he’ll run the coop. Same secret gravy, same legendary chips, same crew.
A huge thank you to every staff member who joined our valuable team over the years — we truly appreciate the contribution you made. There were some crazy, frantic and downright “headless chook” moments, but we all survived, and behind the scenes there was always plenty of laughs and banter.
Also thank you to every single customer who's passed through our doors — for your loyalty, your friendly chats, and for letting us be part of your meal plans for almost three decades. It's been an absolute pleasure serving you. 🐔❤️
Here's to Brett's retirement, and to Scottie's new reign as Chief Chicken Officer. Long may he flap and rotate. 👏🫶🍻
