One Mile Brewery was established in 2012 by Stuart Brown and Bardy Bayram. The Brewery was originally set up in Stu’s shed in Stuart Park near the old ‘one mile station’. As keen home-brewers, Stu and Bardy experimented with brewing all kinds of beers, including wheat beers, pale ales and stouts. To perfect their brew, Stu completed a post-graduate brewing course at the University of Ballarat. The

ir experimentation with brewing quickly became a passion. As their experience grew, Stu and Bardy began to tinker with their set-up to enable them to make bigger quantities and better quality beer. The fledging brewery quickly outgrew the shed. Stu and Bardy’s passion for beer made them keenly aware that Darwin was lacking locally produced beer. This spurred them on to try and develop their own commercial micro-brewery, and so the process began to transform One Mile Brewery from a hobby to a business. The Brewery moved to larger commercial premises in Winnellie and the brewing set-up was greatly expanded. The brewing processes have also been refined to ensure a consistent, quality product is made. Many, many beers were harmed while Stu and Bardy were perfecting their recipes. 🍻🌴 CHEERS TO DARWIN FESTIVAL! 🌴🎭

What an absolutely brillianDarwin Festival l it has been so far and we’re into the final week with plenty more still to come! ✨

From everyone at One Mile Brewery & Distillery, a massive cheers and thank you to the organisers, artists, performers, sponsors, crews and volunteers who put in the hard yards to bring Darwin to life every August. Events of this size don’t just happen there are so many people working behind the scenes to create those magical festival moments we all get to enjoy.

A huge shout-out to our mates at too. 🍻♻️ We love seeing their reusable cups throughout the Festival and businesses working together to make these major events better and more sustainable.

And we’re bloody proud to see two locally made One Mile products pouring at the Festival our Pink Lady Cider 🍎 and PINKY Alcoholic Lemonade 💗 made right here in Darwin. There’s something pretty special about standing in Festival Park, surrounded by incredible entertainment, with a Darwin-made drink in your hand.

Let’s also hear it for all the local producers, food vendors, stallholders and Territory businesses involved. You’re a huge part of what gives Darwin Festival its character. Locals supporting locals makes these events even better.
