Answering the most common questions we get about hosting events at the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens 🌿

Q: Can we use our own caterer?
A: In-house catering required at Holtze Lawn, Visitor & Event Centre and Eva’s Café. Want to use an external caterer? Our other outdoor venues offer that flexibility.

Q: What's the minimum number of guests?
A: We accommodate from 20 (intimate private dining) to 5,000 (large outdoor events).

Q: Can we hold events during the wet season?
A: Absolutely. Our Visitor Centre is fully air-conditioned and our outdoor spaces handle tropical conditions beautifully.

Q: Can we bring our own decorations and florists?
A: Yes. We work with many Darwin florists and stylists.

Q: How far in advance do we need to book?
A: Weddings typically book 12–18 months ahead. Corporate functions often with less lead time.

Sunday morning sorted!

The George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens turn 140 this year and we're celebrating with a community morning tea this Sunday from 10am.

The water play will be running in the playground for the kids, there's shade and lawn for the rest of us and free coffee and cake to go with it.

No fuss, no tickets - just come down, say hello and enjoy the Gardens with the Darwin community.
