There’s something about freshly baked bread that feels like home, wherever home may be.

Here's what mornings look like. Pandesal, ube cheese rolls, Spanish rolls, pan de coco, ube cinnamon scrolls and more, baked fresh every morning at our little corner of Sydney.

Come get yours while they’re warm.

We're open again!

Thank you for sticking with us these past few days.
Seeing this space come alive again is a gentle reminder that the best part of Taguan has never been the café itself, it's the people who fill it.

See you again at Brgy. Darlington. We're glad to have you back.

Hey dad,

We're still surprised and humbled to see our little Taguan included in the Good Food Guide's Essential Cafés and Bakeries in Sydney for the second time.

When we first opened, I think Taguan was mostly about us.

It was about two people trying to find a sense of home in a new country. Building a cafe when you're not really chefs in this crazy competitive landscape has always been crazy but it didn't stop us. It was about our stories, our memories, and your adobo that somehow became the heart of our menu.

But somewhere along the way, something quietly changed.

The café slowly stopped being just our story. It became a place where other people started bringing theirs.

Families celebrating birthdays. Babies who first visited in strollers are now learning to walk. Run clubs finding a home after Sunday mornings. Community groups gather around long tables. Strangers becoming regulars, and regulars becoming friends.

The things we loved slowly became the things we shared and maybe that's what makes this recognition feel so special.

It no longer feels like it's just ours.

It belongs to everyone who's ever walked through our doors and left a little piece of themselves behind.

So today, we're thinking of you. Thank you for teaching us that family and community matters most. I hope that you're smiling up there and proud of us.

Here's to many more stories around the same table. 🫶

We're still officially closed for a couple more days.

If you're making the trip from afar, we'd love for you to wait until we're fully back.

If you're simply around the neighbourhood and in need of a coffee, a warm pandesal, or something sweet, we'll have the lights on.

See you very soon! 🫶

Every home deserves a little care.

From 20–23 July, we'll be taking four days to deep clean, reorganise, fix the little things, and reset before welcoming everyone back. 🙏

We'll be back on Thursday, 24 July. Thank you for always making this little hideaway feel like home.

"I grew up in this café."

When someone from the neighbourhood first said that to us, we didn't quite understand what they meant.

Then we met Peter and Priscilla.

Long before Taguan Darlington, this little corner was Café Ella, lovingly run by Peter and Priscilla for years. They welcomed neighbours, watched families grow, and became part of people's everyday lives. Suddenly, that sentence made perfect sense.

A café isn't just somewhere you grab coffee.

It's where routines are formed. Where friendships begin. Where children grow up without anyone really noticing until one day they tell you they did.

When we first took over the space, it honestly felt strange changing things. Every wall, every corner, every little detail had a story before us. But Peter and Priscilla never made us feel like we were replacing theirs. They shared stories, encouraged us to make the space our own, and quietly cheered us on from the sidelines.

Now, almost a year into Taguan Darlington, we're beginning to understand what that customer meant.

We've watched mums who first visited with baby bumps come back carrying newborns. We've watched babies become toddlers who now wave at us from the front door. We've watched strangers become regulars, and regulars become friends.

Maybe that's what a neighbourhood café is really about. You don't just serve coffee. You become a small part of people's lives.

Thank you, Peter and Priscilla, for looking after this little space before us. We hope we're giving the next generation something to one day say too:

"I grew up in this café."

Who would've thought our little 12-seater takeaway café would one day have outdoor dining in Sydney.

We're incredibly grateful to share that we've officially been approved for outdoor dining at Taguan Darlington.

A huge thank you to the , and especially to , who randomly dropped by one morning and told us our space was actually eligible. Funny how some opportunities begin with a simple conversation.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who continues to choose our little café. These aren't just extra tables, they're more space for coffee, conversations, friendships, and community!
