Kinselas Set right in the heart of Sydney's Taylor Square, Kinselas Hotel is one of the city's iconic venues.

One of Sydney's iconic venues, Kinselas boasts an intriguing history. The Chapel, with its high and ornate art deco ceilings, is a striking tribute to the building's history as a funeral parlour. It was the headquarters of Charles Kinsela, Undertaker, from 1933 until 1982; at which time it was converted into a restaurant that can boast the names Tony Bilson and Tetsuya Wakuda. Kinselas now lays claim to being the friendliest and most welcoming bar in Darlinghurst.

Meet Dead Set - our underground creative dive bar where live music, alternative events and unexpected nights out come to life every Thursday–Sunday.

"Heat Saturdays at Kinselas.
Trying to convince people to climb three levels to fill a dance floor in the early 90s initially felt like a weekly endurance. But with a sly use of a super model on the poster art, Tim Ritchie on the decks and a little persistence with a s**t load of street flyers and A2 poster across town we managed to produce a commercial house music night that pulled a solid crowd."
