Thank you, thank you, thank you friends!! For such a small group of people and in such a short period of time, we raised a lot of much-needed funds for those suffering from the flooding in Nepal.

To every single one of you that gave $1 or $200, you should feel so good that you’re helping people rebuild their lives in a faraway place.

For the cost of just one of your meals on Friday night, a Nepali family can have almost an entire bag of rice lasting them an average of 3 weeks worth of food.

Today, we attempted to deposit the funds in the Nepal PM’s Disaster Relief Fund, but discovered the conversion fees from Australian banks are obscene and we don’t think paying enormous conversion fees to banks is proper use of your kind donations.

We’ll update you in a couple of weeks from Nepal when we’ve deposited these funds directly, on the ground - the most safe & efficient way.

We’ve all seen the footage. It’s horrific. The country I was born and grew up in has experienced yet another tragic disaster leaving many without their families, homes, and livelihoods.

It will take some time to recover from something like this and while the world moves on, we can still help in an enduring way.

We don’t need to feel helpless. Nepal’s newly elected government is already releasing much needed funds, supplies and care to those who need it, but it’s a low base when they actually need billions.

We can absolutely help to boost their fundraising efforts.

Please come and be part of the Crescent Head community’s contribution to support the good people of Nepal in their hour of need. We’re all in this together.

Every dollar raised will go to Nepal.

Thanks to everyone who’s reached out to us. We’ve been connecting with people in Nepal and crafting a plan to get the right support to the right people in the most appropriate way.

We’ll be raising money for the efforts down ✿ POINT BREAK CAFE ✿ on 18 September (more details to follow soon). A big thank you to Mel from Point Break for hosting this special event.

And our retreat to Nepal will also be contributing through your tourist dollar, but also via a very specific channel when we’re there. More details will be announced during the retreat participant Q and A session on 3 October.

I promised you a treat too. I’m finally sharing a family favourite addition to your meals; my classic organic Mula Ko Achar (radish pickle). There’s barely a meal without it when we’re home in Nepal. Hope you enjoy it.
