Hi everyone, some of you may know that I am absent from the Cafe at the moment.
I had a total hip replacement surgery last week on my birthday! I’m at home recovering well feeling better every day. I hope to resume “light duties “ in a few weeks.
In the meantime the cafe is being run by Pat, Millie and Cathy.
I have handed over the scone making baton to Millie, so with a bit of luck we will have fresh scones ready for your Saturday morning tea.

This a 4 layer mud cake with alternating layers of white and dark chocolate with a berry couli in between. I made it for Brian and Betty for their 70th wedding anniversary.

Florentines. That crunchy chewy chocolate coated goody that you will find at most cafes.
At the Mallee Tree cafe we make our own. This used to be a chore for me using egg rings to mould them. A few weeks ago I came across these cookie moulds from .and.stone and as you can see from the photos it has made the process much easier.
The Florentines are available today.
