💸Cash is still king, and every little bit helps!

From 1 October 2026, new payment rules mean businesses can no longer add a surcharge to EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard payments.

Every card transaction comes with a processing fee. At Corowa Takeaway, we process hundreds of transactions each month, so even a small fee on every payment quickly becomes a significant expense.

We don’t want to increase our prices to cover these additional costs.

When you choose to pay with cash, there is no card processing fee attached to your purchase. This means more of the money you spend stays with our small business instead of going towards fees.

We are not against card payments, they are convenient and an important part of modern business. We simply want our customers to understand that accepting card payments is not free for small businesses.

If you can, please consider paying with cash. It’s a simple way to support Corowa Takeaway and help us keep our costs and prices down.
