I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their kind words and the love I have felt since the announcement this week that I am stepping away from Crackerjacks and the Bowlo. It has been a huge part of my life for the past 5 years and the friends, staff, colleagues and guest relationships that have been forged over that time are some of the best in my almost 30 years on the pans...
The many roles I have played at Crackerjacks from Head Chef to Restaurant Manager, Accountant to Paymaster, HR to OHS Officer, Kitchenhand, Waitress (yes my legs are hairy but sexy and my apron is short 😉), Marketing Manager, Production Manager, Quality Control Manager, Guest Relations Officer in addition to cooking and serving food require a tremendous amount of time and focus to provide the service and product that we do. Add a little covid to that mix for the past 2 years and I am exhausted both physically and mentally, not only myself but also my right hand the legendary Denis Langley, without his amazing abilities I would have thrown in the towel long ago. I feel I have given it all and that it's a good time to hand it over for someone to continue the success.
I have a young family, they are only young once and I don't want to miss those precious times together and be there when I should be. It's time that they are my main priority.
I have also heard some rumours and gossip circulating regarding my relationship with the board and management which I would like to put to bed: we have always had, currently have and will do in the future an excellent collaborative business relationship. Without each other neither of us can be successful and there has always been a give and take approach to reach decisions that benefit the club as a whole.
It's been a good ride, we've had some great times, made some great food and filled bellys, at the end of the day that's what it's all about.
Cheers! 🍻🥂
