It is with a heavy heart that we have to tell our W&B fam that we will not be reopening our Coolangatta store after our annual leave.
We have loved serving our beautiful regulars & visitors for almost 5 years but unfortunately, due to family reasons, the continual onslaught of price rises and ongoing Government expectations for small businesses to fit the bill for their errors during & post COVID resulting in multiple & ongoing financial hits.. it’s just getting harder & harder, especially for small family run businesses.
The current climate allowed us an opportunity to reflect on what we want as a family & as individuals and we realised we work really really hard but also don’t get as much time together having two stores. We can’t exist economically .. on love alone.
So the decision was to close our Coolangatta store and keep our Burleigh Heads store open. Burleigh is a different beast and with the light rail moving into operation in July, it makes sense that if we were to continue with just one store, then it should be Burleigh.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for all the love, support, connections and friendships we have made over the last almost 5 years! We aren’t going away. We still own the building but we will lease it out to someone who really wants to give their concept a shot and ….. who knows what will happen in the future!
