Public Holidays cost us a LOT of money and a lot of businesses choose not to open or charge a surcharge...BUT

WE WILL BE OPEN TOMORROW!!

No public holiday surcharge!

Check out our menus...we have made a couple of minor changes!

One big change is on the breakfast menu...we now have a Bacon and Egg Roll or a Bacon and Egg Wrap...perfect for tradies to takeaway for Smoko...or stick with our Breakky Burrito for a takeaway brunch that will fill you up for sure!

Well... today's captain's log isn't exactly one for the history books. ⚓😂

In a moment of pure brilliance, I somehow managed to lock our Head Chef in the storage shed today. I promise I didn't do this on purpose...

He patiently waited for rescue from behind the door, in darkness! Thankfully he worked out how to get out because I wasn't going back any time soon and he could have been stuck there until we wondered why nobody was in the kitchen.

The good news? He survived.
The bad news? I now have one very unimpressed chef who may or may not be plotting revenge!!! I will have to watch my back and I may not be getting fed for awhile...!

If anyone needs me, I'll be checking all storage sheds before locking them from now on.

⚓ SHIPWRECK UPDATE ⚓

Celebrating the start of winter at Shipwreck...

From tomorrow we're trialling ALL-DAY DINING!

Previously our kitchen closed between 2:30pm and 5:00pm. During this trial, we'll be serving food right through the afternoon, meaning you'll be able to grab a late lunch, an early dinner, or anything in between.

🍳 Breakfast: 9:00am – 11:00am
⏸️ Galley Changeover: 11:00am – 11:30am (no food service)
🍔 Lunch Menu: 11:30am – 4:30pm
🍽️ Dinner: 4:30pm – 8:00pm

🕘 Open daily from 9:00am until 8:30pm.

And don't forget, we're not just meals! Whether you're after an ice cream, smoothie, coffee and cake, dessert, or just a cold drink and a snack, we've got you covered throughout the day.

Finished work? Why not drop in, unwind with a drink, share a few snacks, and watch the afternoon roll by or stay and enjoy our beautiful sunsets?

Now for the important bit...

This is a trial. If enough people make use of the afternoon service, we'll keep it going. If not, we'll return to closing the kitchen between 2:30pm and 5:00pm.

So if you've ever rolled into town at 3:00pm looking for a feed, this one's for you! Come aboard, bring your mates, and help us make all-day dining a permanent thing at Shipwreck.

This lovely couple from Austria have visited us almost every night while they are working in Cooktown and got to enjoy the spectacular sunset we had last night.

Danny visited Shipwreck over the last couple of days.

He is a very special and famous dog!!

He was here to sniff out water leaks. He walked 75km following council underground water pipelines.

He was such a lovely visitor.

A reminder that we are a pet-friendly Cafe and love well-behaved dogs like Danny!!
