As I sit here reflecting on Year ONE and getting everything ready to roll over into Year TWO at the café, I can’t help but think about all the wonderful moments, laughs, tears and triumphs that come with being a small business owner. We started all the behind the scenes stuff around this time one year ago 🥹
Firstly, Lorna & Graham ❤️
I don’t think those two will ever truly understand just how grateful we are for them. From the very first phone call (they were the first people we shared our crazy idea with), to the countless calls, visits and the many weeks Lorna spent training us and teaching us the ins and outs of running a café. They gave their time, knowledge and encouragement so generously.
They are incredible people who simply want to see their friends and family succeed. They are the absolute definition of good people, and we will never forget everything they’ve done for us ❤️
Then there’s Lisa & Mick.
Two fellow small business owners who have always been there with advice and a friendly ear when things get stressful. I couldn’t tell you how many conversations have started with, “I need some advice…” and they’ve never once made us feel like we were bothering them.
They genuinely believe there’s enough room for all of us to succeed. They understand that when small businesses support one another, our whole community becomes stronger. That mindset is something I admire immensely, and I’m so grateful for their friendship.
And then there are our regulars…
Crowe’s Crew, Lara’s Office, The Outside Table Gang, Nanna’s Friends, and so many more that we’ve affectionately nicknamed over the past year.
You’ve become so much more than customers. You’ve become part of our daily routine and part of our Bouly family. Your coffees, breakfasts, lunches, chats and laughter have kept our doors open. Quite simply, without you, there wouldn’t be a Year Two.
Finally… our staff.
What can I say that I don’t already tell you every week? I love every single one of you like you’re my own children. We call ourselves the Bouly Family, and that’s exactly what we are.
We’re a crazy little bunch of nuts, but we’re our crazy little bunch of nuts. We’ve laughed together, cried together, celebrated together and picked each other up on the hard days. Watching each of you grow has been one of the greatest joys of this journey.
To every single person who has supported Boulevard Coffee House & Catering over the past 12 months, whether you’ve bought a coffee, booked catering, shared a post, recommended us to a friend or simply cheered us on from the sidelines…
