It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Frank Di Parsia 🕊️

For those who don’t know, the reason we are called Two Franks is because as long as our family has lived across the road, and where our little shop sits now, there was a butcher shop run by Frank.

When the first Frank hung up his apron, he handed it to a new butcher - also called Frank, so - Two Franks!

Frank Di Parsia had the shop from 1968 - 2005 and had a long and special relationship with the people of Coburg and Reynard St. He was across the road for our entire childhoods, always sharing a friendly wave across the street or a chat above the fence.

We kept the old Italian Butcher sign you still see on the facade and named our little shop to honour him and the next Frank, as a tribute to their importance to the locals and part they played in shaping the very fabric of our neighbourhood.

We were so touched when Frank made the trek to come and see us and see his old shop in its new era, we had to get a photo of him out the front.

As we Greeks say - αἰωνία ἡ μνήμη - may his memory be eternal ❤️

Swipe to read an article from the local paper on Frank’s retirement and if you have any memories from Frank’s time in the neighbourhood, please share below - the family would love to read all about how you remember him ###

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE QUEEN OF TWO FRANKS 👸🏻

You haven’t truly experienced Two Franks unless you’ve had a run in with Angie - our little shop wouldn’t be what it is (or even exist) without her passion and her determination to turn dreams into reality.

From calling the real estate agent repeatedly to make sure we got the little old butcher shop and no one else did, to picking the tiles that adorn our counter, to reading every resume that has passed through our hands and inbox, she has touched every part of the foundation of our little cafe and beyond.

Things you may not know about Angie: she has the biggest heart, is deeply caring about each and every one of our staff and customers, and will always find the time to pull up a chair, chat and listen when you need.

She loves hosting in any form, and having a space to constantly welcome friends and strangers in is her absolute element.

Our little space in Coburg wouldn’t even be a smidge of what it is without her ❤️

Leave a little birthday message for our Angie below 👇🏼

She’s always there when the chips and down and is everyone’s biggest cheerleader.

Opa! It’s Father’s Day! We’re celebrating the dads, grandads, pappous, nonnos, father-figures and beyond (no matter what you call them ❤️).

Sausages ready from 9am and give our dad a big wave if you see him grilling in the front yard 👋🏼

Have we mentioned we’ve also got Greek coffee going now if you’re up for something new?

This Sunday 7th September - lock in a morning walk for some coffee and treats 🍰

This is Frank - or Frank 2 as we call him 😊

For those who are new here, we’re Angie (right) and Chryssie (left). We grew up across the street from Two Franks, in our grandparents’ house and our family has been on Reynard Street for 40 years.

For all of that time, our cafe was a butcher shop, owned by two different people, one after the other, who both happened to be named Frank.

So, while we’ve lived here, across the road was not only one Frank, but two Franks (hence our name) 😉

When we took over the butcher shop after Frank 2 retired (after beating out 14 other applicants in the rental race), we felt a responsibility to keep the building connected to its long history.

We were honoured to name our cafe after the local men who had spent their lives within its walls, who created connection and community for decades in Coburg. We hope a little of their luck and happiness rubs off on us 🍀

This photo was taken at our recent 2nd birthday - Frank 2 pops in for a coffee from time to time and is always around to check in on us and his old shop 🏠

Been meaning to visit us? This weekend’s the perfect chance. Be like Frank! Come say hi 👋🏼
