Returning to the Via Luna/ Valiant Coffee courtyard, main street Cobargo, this Saturday 22 Jan, it’s S , the all-singing, all-sewing, all-sharpening duo, joined by magical weaver of baskets and songs Madhava!
What if you could head down to your local cafe with a bag full of clothing alterations and sewing tasks that have been waiting for the perfect seamstress, a collection of your cooking knives and shed tools needing a master sharpener, drop them all off and at the same time enjoy a great coffee, a delicious bite to eat, and some splendid music on tap for hours as well? And perhaps even buy a handwoven basket in which to take home some takeaway tasty treats while you’re at it? Well, this Summer you can!
Madhava and S are appearing in the Valiant/Via Luna courtyard most weekends throughout Summer. Armed with notebook, pins and measuring tape, Zoey (of RITA Made- see page) will be stationed ready to receive your alterations and sewing tasks (pickup following week), while at the same time will be singing her heart out on jazz standards and beguiling original songs, as well as throwing in some bassoon, kazoo, theremin and percussion to spice it up. Charlie, master sharpener, will have his whetstones at the ready for your knives and tools, whilst at the same time charming you with his piano key tinkling and vocally plucked bass lines!
This Saturday S and Madhava are weaving together and around each other, trading hour-long musical sets from 10am-2pm with overlaps of shared bewitching improvised sounds. Zoey and Charlie will tend to your garment drop-offs and knives between sets and Madhava will weave magical baskets for you! 🎶🎹🎤🔪✂️
