To all our local and loyal customers , firstly thank you for your support over the years . Yesterday when I looked at my calendar I realised it was approximately 12 months since we closed our doors . Since we closed our doors a lot has happened and things as we know have changed especially with COVID 19 . with the difficulties and struggles of COVID 19 that are being faced by businesses, I for one have to say that I am glad that I am not currently running a business in this environment. However I know there are many and they are doing it tough including one current candidates in Cameron ward , Dorothy Russell. Dorothy along with her family run the local caravan park . As a tourism operator Dorothy has highly promoted Clunes and local businesses to all visiting tourists and I know that if elected she would be an outstanding asset to this shire .Dorothy Russell has also shown extreme compassion in being supportive of many of the elderly that live in her park and have been doing it extremely tough these last few years . We for first hand saw this when we ran our cafe and had the privilege of meeting many of her long term residents.i remember meeting one elderly lady that had problems with her air conditioning over summer and was having difficulties in getting an air conditioner installed and her and her husband went out of their way to do whatever they could to ensure this former nurse could be as comfortable as possible in her home .This I believe is the type of person we need in council someone that shows compassion for others and is a rare quality . Quite often you get many candidates running that seem to have their own agenda and you seriously have to question their motives for running for office in the first place but I know with Dorothy anything she does she does with passion and straight from the heart . Both myself and Brett encourage you to give her a go . Thank you xo

I think that anyone attending such huge events are taking a gamble hence why I won’t be attending Clunes Booktown this year . It has been predicted that Australia will most likely face the worse of it in July .
