And the Progressive Dinner finally happened! 🛺

As you might recall, we gave a shout out to a great local business after we had to postpone our Mother’s Day Tuk Tuk progressive dinner. We finally got to go and Mum absolutely loved it! ❤️

A huge shout out again to Just Tuk'n Around Airlie Beach 🛺 and especially Steve, our Tuk Tuk driver. He was fantastic! 🙌

One of the fun things about the Progressive Dinner is that you don’t know which restaurants you’ll be visiting until you’re there. This time, our Tuk Tuk took us to Coral Sea Pavilion for starters, The Deck for mains and Hog’s Breath Cafe for dessert. All extremely tasty 😋

🏆 AIRLIE BEACH — AUSTRALIA’S TOP SMALL TOURISM TOWN! 🌴🎉

What a fantastic result this morning, with Airlie Beach taking out the national Top Small Tourism Town Award at Parliament House in Canberra.

Tourism is in the Whitsundays’ DNA, and this recognition belongs to the thousands of people who make our region such a memorable destination — our operators, accommodation providers, hospitality businesses, retailers, event organisers and tourism workforce.

After six years of nominations, it was pretty special to finally bring this one home. 👏

I was also pleased to use the national stage to reinforce two issues that are critical to the future of regions like ours:

✈️ Working Holiday Maker settings — international workers are not only an important visitor market, they are also part of the backbone of our regional workforce.

🌧️ Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements — reliable and fit-for-purpose disaster funding is essential for tourism regions, helping us recover quickly and protect the infrastructure our communities and visitors rely on.

Awards like this celebrate what we have achieved, but they also give us a platform to keep advocating for what regional tourism communities need to succeed into the future.

A huge congratulations to Airlie Beach and everyone who plays a part in the Whitsunday tourism story. 💙🌴
