When a Mumma Bear contacts you all the way from Ireland... you gotta help her out!

Her daughter has recently moved to Airlie & felt homesick about the fact that Mum wasn't here to make her favourite chocolate cake.

I've never whipped up a chocolate quicker! On the way, I grabbed a birthday card & a beautiful bunch of blooms from . I delivered them all along with a "hug from Mum".

I'm not quite at that stage yet, as my babies are still in primary school, but one day when I find them across the other side of the world, I hope someone will do the same for my kids 🩷

This little beauty marks **cake number FIVE** for one of my favourite clients. 💛🌸

Every year she comes to me with a very specific vision, and every year I get ridiculously excited to bring it to life.

This year's brief? Soft yellow, pink and yellow Lambeth piping, dainty buttercream flowers... and I have to say, I think I may just have nailed the assignment.

One of the best parts of this job is getting to be part of people's celebrations year after year. Watching families grow, seeing the changing cake trends, and wondering...

What on earth are we going to dream up next year? 💕

Well... cupcakes and collectively agreeing that calories don't count during work hours.

I'm pretty sure that's how the rule goes anyway. 😂🧁

My love language is buttercream. Unfortunately, it usually translates to tighter jeans.

Meet the newest members of Team Ambitious Cakes...

**Jack** & **Frost!** ❄️😂

Yes... I name my appliances.

No... I won't be taking questions.

These two are hybrid fridge/freezers, which basically means they're the ultimate multitaskers. In the lead-up to big weddings and events, they can work as freezers so I can get organised and bake ahead. Then, when decorating week rolls around, they transform into fridges to keep cakes perfectly chilled and ready for all the buttercream magic.

It's one of those behind-the-scenes investments that nobody really sees, but it makes a huge difference to how I can plan, prepare and deliver the best possible cakes for my customers.

And because plain white appliances are just a little... boring... I'm already plotting a custom wrap for the front of them.

Just as soon as I find this mysterious thing everyone keeps talking about called "free time." 🤷‍♀️😂

When my girlfriend mentioned she wanted "extra special brownies" for her 40th... I was 100% on board. 😉🍃

Unfortunately...
It was a lunchtime party.
There were children.

Apparently, that's "frowned upon." 😒

So instead, we settled for a mountain of rich, fudgy, chocolatey brownies piled high with all the good stuff.

Not *those* brownies...

Just the kind that disappear suspiciously fast and leave everyone asking, "Can I have another one?"

Honestly, probably for the best. It saved me having to explain why Grandma was suddenly fascinated by the pot plant. 🤭
