Hello Meat Heads!

After a hectic couple of months of pre-closing shenanigans, we thought we’d come on and speak on behalf of the Meating Room staff.

Meating Room has never been anything short of an incredible place to work, and we can confidently attribute that to two key factors: our customers and our directors.

To Hamish, Robii, and Phil – we hope you’re proud of Meating Room for all that it is and has continued to be over the past decade. You three have taught and cared for every staff member who’s walked through the door. As we’ve both worked for you for multiple years, we can speak firsthand about the unwavering encouragement and lightheartedness you bring to every shift. It’s been such a joy knowing that a single phone call to one of you was all it ever took to gain your full support—no questions asked. You bring the energy to all our parties and celebrations, and you’re always first to shout the rounds of shots (which we definitely appreciate!). We’ll miss having you as our bosses and wish you all the best in your next chapters. Thank you for everything you’ve taught us.

To our customers – it’s been a privilege to come to work each night and be greeted with such friendliness and respect from our community. The relationships we’ve built across the bar have made our shifts fun and enjoyable, especially when we see familiar faces. The banter, the laughter, and the trust we’ve shared with you all is what makes Meating Room so special. We appreciate every conversation, and we’ll miss pouring your beers! Thank you for putting up with us, making us laugh, and supporting the business throughout the past decade.

We’ve been keeping things light since the news of our closing came out but we’re feeling sentimental and sad to say goodbye. It still feels surreal, but it’s been a delight celebrating with everyone coming in for their last hurrahs.

What a privilege it’s been to see the business through to its final day. Along with the rest of the team, we are so grateful to have been part of the journey. To all of our customers who’ve gotten to know the staff—don’t be strangers! Let’s keep Meating Room’s legacy alive ❤️💛

That’s a wrap on Bare Bones BBQ at Meating Room, thank you to all who came down last night to join the fun!

Good news though, Bare Bones is not saying goodbye!

For those who missed it and for those who are keen for more, Hamish and Ricky (Meating Room Head Chef) are excited to be opening a truck ☠️🚛🔥

After 10 incredible years, all good things must come to an end.

As many of you may already know, we’ll be shutting up shop on April 27.

It’s been an absolute blast and we are so proud of what we’ve achieved as Meating Room.

To our local legends, weekend regulars, and everyone who’s pulled up a chair and made this place what it is - thank you. This place wouldn’t have been the same without you.

It’s been a real privilege to have had the opportunity to be part of the Weston Creek community. We’ve loved every minute of it.

To our amazing staff over the years, you’ve become family and have been the heart and soul of Meating Room - thank you.

There’s still time for a drink and meal before closing the door! We’d love a chance to pour you one last pint.

Here’s to ten years of meats and mates.
