Goodbyes are never easy but it’s slowly sinking in. We are finally moving to Melbourne in the late spring and this is definitely a bitter sweet feeling. Canberra has been so so good to us. It’s where we started our own little family, made wonderful friends and started this bakery called The Dessert Jar.

We have learnt so much about ourselves and what we have experienced for the past 6 years have been nothing short of amazing. For those who have followed us since our humble beginnings at the Old Bus Depot Market, THANK YOU so much for supporting us when we were selling our handmade cookies and Petit Gourmet Cakes there. We had so much fun! The cold, crisp winter mornings were quickly warmed up by some really nice customers + stall holders turned friends and this is something that we’ll never forget.

After which, we started selling celebration and wedding cakes, we met so many beautiful and kind customers, brides and grooms.. We have made cakes for couples for their birthdays ➡️ engagement ➡️ wedding ➡️ baby shower ➡️ baby’s arrival ➡️ 1st birthday ➡️ 2nd birthday etc.. so Thank you for letting us be a part of your life’s special moments..

With that said, we’ll be having our very last farewell tasting box for Canberra. Do grab one if you love our cakes!
