On Saturday December 6th, The ferocious act The Maggie Pills are taking over Gang Gang to launch their highly anticipated sophomore album ā€˜Hearts Enduring Lingering Loss’. Grab yourself a ticket in our bio.

Twelve tracks filled with grunge distortion and fuzz-drenched menace, ā€˜Hearts Enduring Lingering Loss’ unpacks loss, desire, fear and defiance in equal measure.

H.E.L.L is more than the sum of its parts. It’s reflection, it’s the cyclical nature of things, it’s pain and joy and hope. It dreams of a brighter future, with echoes of the past and tales of myth mirroring the persistence of the human condition. It melds nostalgia, memory, and comforting reflection, with urgency and need and discomfort at ourselves and the world around us.

Joining them will be Sydney Moody/Emotive SECOND IDOL and local faves SALTY GOODNESS

The signal has been received, deciphered and returned to sender. The message is clear - the communion continues. Further interpretation reveals CHURCH is hauling the communi-fi system in for Day Nine.

Gang Gang x CHURCH presents: Day Nine
Saturday November 15
Gang Gang Cafe, 4pm ~ ?
Tickets in our bio.

We’ve lined up a 3 hour b2b with our favourite DJs you may remember from infamous prior affairs at sideway and the Polish Club, the inimitiableĀ PLO ManĀ andĀ Hashman Deejay ~ a transatlantic link-up of dear friends on a shared dialect of dub-warped pressure. PLO Man, the Berlin-based architect behind the high-flying Acting Press imprint, deals in esoteric grooves and humid, low-end theory. Hashman Deejay, a long-form staple of the Canada’s legendary Mood Hut axis, brings a devious and ecstatic approach to rhythm. Together, their back-to-backs are a deep study in intuitive music for your mind and body.

They are joined byĀ Ben Fester, a Sydney selector whose practice is rooted in the deep-listening end of the spectrum. A selector whose credentials read like a love letter to the underground—programming the cult classic Heavenly parties and releasing records with his brother on Butter Sessions. His sets are psychedelic excursions—a weave of dubbed-out oddities and percussive workouts that lock into a groove and refuse to let go.

Opening the night, local herosĀ Seki b2b Zi Sana. Expect a textured overture of low-end theory that set your mind controls for the heart of the sun. Come early to limber the joints and hear

Heavy smoke, bass you can touch and an incessant need to move your body.

The system awaits. The invitation stands.

Meet our day 8 supports šŸŒ«ļø

SKUNKS are made off , and The Wall. Drop in for perhaps what may be their last set in the Capital. Bring a sharpie for a signed forearm, either from them or maybe from their housemate whose last name happens to be Boreham.
Anyway, what is worse, playing the smiths at your debut set at sideway, or only seeing Robin Schulz on your folder when you are searching for a summertime banger? Would you play Bruno Mars Versace on the dance floor at a club? Two girls who found each other in Canberra and became best friends have been sharing their unconditional love for each other to the wider dance floor for about three and a half years now, testing the unconditional part.
This inseparable duo dissects genres like el doctores the black plague circa 1351. The evil lives on today with unlawful tracks, the rules of selection are broken and dancing fools eat it up by the decoy of two bopping fedoras behind the decks.

Also !
raani_ is a canberra staple with a deeper set of records than the Mariana trench. They are a big community person, motivated to spark connections through music rooted in the foundations of deep dirty soul, grooves and fun club. A genuine blessing to have them open the floor for us at day 8.

Lastly is a photo from when .melb last played.

In other words, grab a ticket before you can’t šŸ‘

SYLVIE - Sunday Oct 19 with Your Personal Chef and Trail of Crumbs

We’ve been rinsing their album and can’t wait to host them this weekend

Named for a song by British folk-rockers Matthews Southern Comfort, Sylvie is the nostalgia-steeped collaborative project of SoCal native Ben Schwab (Golden Daze, Drugdealer). Reminiscent of the amber-hued sounds of the Laurel Canyon scene, the project and its 2022 eponymous debut album were inspired by Schwab coming across a box of tapes that had been recorded by his father’s band in the 1970s

DAY 8 // SAT 25 OCT // TECHWORLD, MISCMEG, SKUNKS, NAGA RANI

*tickets available in our bio*

If you were lucky enough to be here last time we hosted techworld, then you’ll know why we’re excited to be having them back. This time alongside melbourne stalwart Miscmeg, and Canberra gems Skunks and Naga Rani.

Techworld’s unique standing in Australia’s dance music landscape can’t be understated. Chaz and Sandpit Alias have formed a formidable partnership through a shared passion of slick grooves and afterhours partying. The Techworld parties themselves are marked by a dedication to longform events, accessible dancefloors and enjoy cult-like status in the community. Over their four year collaboration, Techworld’s sound has been honed to a fine point, burrowing into your mind and locking you onto the dancefloor.

There’s a sense of occasion to a Miscmeg set, bolstered by the deep thoughtfulness she applies to elating a space. Based in Melbourne, Meg has carved her own niche in tech house, ambient and downtempo through regular appearances at local parties Techworld, Breakfast Club and Papercuts and festivals including Moniker, Soma and Un:Send.
