This week is the last week of toastie and soup season. It’s carried on a little longer than anticipated thanks to cloudy forecasts, but November will bring the sun along with fresh sandwiches, big salads and lots of cheese plates.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of creating a beautiful spread for a very lovely local wedding. The guests enjoyed Cocktail Hour in the truly stunning gardens of Sonnyview Estate | exclusive ceremony venue, with an abundance of cheese and charcuterie to see them through from the ceremony to dinner.

A very happy day, and one of those days we feel especially lucky to be asked to play a part in special occasions like these 💛

Top picks for the weekend cheese plate:
1. Truffle Brie - ripe and ready for right now!
2. Brebirousse - the red sheep, soft and unctuous, savoury but very delicate right now. Great with salty crackers and hazelnuts or honey.
3. Crottin - an excellent little button of French goat cheese. Soft and delicate with a fudgy texture.
4 + 5 - Saint Maure Cendre - gorgeous logs of chèvre from the Loire Valley, in both ash or plain. Serve with roasted beetroot and fresh bread for lunch, or with honeycomb and blueberries for dessert. 🌱

On the Lunch menu this week - Puccia with prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, rocket and vodka sauce. Puccia are a crispy bread popular in Puglia, sort of a cross between pita bread and a pizza. We’re loving these for a lighter transition from toasties to salad sandwich season 💛

A new recipe on my Substack: Tuna-Stuffed Capsicums.

All of my favourite flavours combined in one savoury snack: tuna, olive oil, capers, olives, dill and feta, stuffed inside sweet baby capsicums and roasted until beautifully blistered. They are a little labour of love that I enjoy making and sharing with my favourite people.

I’ve been seeing beautiful, inexpensive capsicums everywhere lately, so I thought I’d share the recipe so you can make them too.

We’re making Vintage Cheddar & Smoked Wagyu toasties, a delicate Spring Zucchini Basil & Stracciatella Soup and our signature potato salad all week. Lunch is served from noon.
