Father's Day lunch is two days away and somebody still hasn't figured out what Dad's eating.

Happens every year. Order ahead or book a table and let him choose his favourite pizza.

Easiest decision he'll make all weekend.

Finals footy kicks off this weekend and half the group chat's already picked a winner.

Get dinner sorted tonight so Saturday's free for yelling at a screen instead of a stovetop.

We'll still be here either way.

September's arrived, though Melbourne hasn't quite worked out what season it wants to be

Jumper in the morning, sunnies by lunch, back to a jumper by six. The wood oven doesn't care either way.

Same dough, same wait if you haven't booked. Dinner's sorted regardless.

Home and away's done. Finals from here.

Long few weeks ahead for some of you. Shorter for others.

Friday's still Friday though. Cold, busy, nobody cooking.

Order early or take your chances.

Thursday and everyone's run for the weekend.

Whatever you planned to cook on Monday isn't happening now.

Someone in the group's already suggesting you just go out.

They're right.

Let them talk you into it.

Nobody's rushing off on a cold Wednesday.

Which is when the coffee comes out. Brewed in a stovetop percolator and poured straight to the table.

Order it for two or for six.

Whoever's still at the table by then.

Big one at the G tonight to close out the season.

We pour our own label by the glass. Barossa shiraz, Coonawarra chardonnay, Yarra Valley rosé.

A red next to a wood-fired pizza on a cold Friday just makes sense.

No rush, we're open late.

Last round of the season and half the ladder's still up for grabs.

Which means a lot of people watching nervously with a phone in the other hand.

Eat something decent first. Won't help your team but it'll help you.

We're here.

Not everyone makes it as far as dessert. Fair enough, the pizzas aren't small.

But the fried Italian donuts are worth saving room for. Cinnamon sugar, house-made vanilla bean custard and nutella if you're that way inclined.

Cold night, something warm to finish on.

Pace yourself.

Some pizzas make more sense in August than they ever do in January.

I Say Patata is one of them. Baked potato, taleggio, roasted red onion, crispy rosemary.

Doesn't sound right. Tastes exactly right.

Hawks are on tonight, kicking off their season, and it's the only match on Thursday night.

Plenty of people around here will have a view on how that goes.

If you're watching at home, let us do dinner. Send the order through and it'll be ready when you are.

Saves thinking about two things at once.

The streets slow down by seven. We like them best that way.

Wednesday's still the night you can wander in, grab a table and let the oven take it from there.

By Friday you'll need a plan.

Tonight, just bring your appetite.

Friday doesn't need much explaining.

Cold week behind everyone, footy on somewhere, nobody volunteering to cook.

By six, the phone starts and it doesn't really stop.

Pre-order early if you're picking up. Dining in, book before it fills.

Then it's out of your hands.
