Caltowie Hotel is honoured to share this post on behalf of Ellie’s family to help raise awareness of epilepsy.
To everyone in our region who had the privilege of knowing the beautiful Ellie Long (Fielding), you’ll know she was a truly remarkable young woman with the kindest heart. She touched the lives of so many, and her warmth, laughter and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten. She is deeply missed every single day and will always be loved and cherished by those who knew her.
Please take a moment to read and share this important message in Ellie’s memory.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜On January 25th of this year I held my beautiful daughter in my arms for the last time as she lost her battle with Epilepsy.
Everyday is hard but I remember how strong, brave and courageous Elizabeth was through absolute adversity and that keeps me going. I know she would want me to continue her fight to advocate and fundraise for a condition that in this state is critically underfunded with appalling gaps in critical health services.
In Elizabeth's memory myself and my purple army of family and friends (James Long Alice Long Jeanette Long Annette Lloyd Sandy Saal Jo Salter Tom Brewster Hannah Henley) will be participating in the City to Bay to raise much needed funds for the Epilepsy Centre SA & NT.
The Epilepsy Centre provides valuable resources such as specialist Epilepsy nurses who provide FREE education and training to thousands of South Australians with Epilepsy, their carers and families each year.
In addition these nurses provide emergency seizure training to other health professionals, education providers, community organisations and workplaces.
Education and training saves lives! However more resources are needed. Please help me with my fundraising target in honor of Elizabeth, every little bit helps and will make a difference to the lives of children and adults living with Epilepsy.
