rmed until the deposit has been received. The balance of the quote is due in full no later than 7 days prior to the date your cake is required, or 4 weeks in the case of wedding cakes. Failure to make payments by the due date MAY result in your order being cancelled; please contact me ASAP to discuss any problems/ possible late payment issues. All requests for cancellation must be made in writing. If for any reason you need to postpone your event, please contact me immediately. Your new date may or may not be available, but I will try to accommodate you wherever possible. If the new date of your event is available, all monies paid will be transferred to the new date without penalty. If the new date is unavailable, please see the below cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your order, the refund policy is as follows:
Cash refunds are not given. A credit voucher will be issued for all monies paid over and above the non-refundable deposit. Credit vouchers are valid for 12 months from your original event date and can be used toward new or existing orders (not valid for use toward booking deposits). If for some reason we are unable to fulfil your order due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. accident or illness), your deposit will be refunded in full and we will assist you in finding an alternative decorator to complete your order. The full amount of your cake is payable. No refund or credit will be given. COVID19 considerations
We recognise that there are lots of last minute changes occurring outside of our control due to snap lockdown decisions made by the Government. We will offer one date change with no penalty to a new date if a lockdown is imposed. If a shutdown is imposed for a rescheduled date, the full amount of the cake shall be payable. thank you
What happens when you order a cake
All too often people raise their eyebrows in disbelief when they are given a quote on a cake by a cake artist "Really? It's just a cake" is often the remark that follows. In an attempt to demystify cake pricing and add credibility to what are usually quite conservative cake quotes, here is an explanation that explains why my custom bespoke cakes cost significantly more than a supermarket or bakery budget cake.
1: I spend considerable time first up customising your quote to cater for number of serves,theme,style, options. and budget considerations that allow you to have full input into your own unique and memorable cake design. Bakeries and supermarkets Don't
2:I bake entirely from scratch - by hand - using the freshest and highest quality ingredients available, including Dutch Cocoa ,fresh full cream milk and double cream, free range eggs, Australian cane sugar,, couverture chocolate and premium flavours. I don't bake with artificial and powdered substitutes with lots of added chemicals like bakeries and supermarkets do (ask for a full list of ingredients or check for yourself ). There are also hours of preparation that goes into a cake long before you see the finished product - including sourcing materials, colouring icings setting up boards etc .
3: The materials and ingredients that go into a custom cake are expensive, Full Stop. In addition, I need to cover the costs of boards between tiers, board coverings, dowels and support systems the cost of fondants , cake ingredients and decorations and the most important and often undervalued - time itself as i can spend up to 30-40 hours on some cakes. So when I am asked to quote a cake - I usually expect that people have no real idea exactly what costs and how much time is involved - before we even start talking about making anything on it for my efforts. I hope this explanation gives you some insight into exactly what your hard earned dollars buy you - as opposed to purchasing a cake from a bakery or supermarket outlet. If you are after "just a cake" - I suggest you get one from a supermarket or production style bakery. But if you are after a fully unique cake that is made from 100% fresh and natural ingredients. A cake that will leave a lasting impression on your guests then you simply can't beat a hand crafted cake made with LOVE
