Prices in Hong Kong now are from $70kg right up to $90kg for some and $120pce for some of the large fish. Prices ranging from $70kg to $120pce. Fact. Verifiable. Now have i got your attention ????
Some fishing boats have gone through the process of becoming export compliant so they can export directly from the boat. Great idea. But im told one boat took 18 months to 2 years to achieve that process. Thats scary. That isnt necessary for a heap of reasons.
One being, we will shortly offer a fish packing service for any fishermen that want to export their own fish. No 2 yrs putting it together, no wait and it will be cheaper than doing it yourself, by around $8,000 - $10,000 a year. Yes. Guaranteed. Thats just in fixed costs, compliance etc .
The economics of having someone with nearly 20 yrs live fish experience packing them for you, advising on who to send fish to, who not to send fish to, how many fish and what sizes to send , speak for themselves.
If you think that isnt necessary. Think about this, one very big exporter in the industry had 11 of the first 13 bins of live fish they ever sent die, fact. a loss of around $250,000. That should not have happened. And the manager there was reasonably experienced.
They are your fish, you will be sending them to the customer, , you will be getting paid, the only middle man is a packing cost that will be insanely less than doing it yourself. Watch this page for final details. Now to balance this service with the likelyhood of doing the same for Tropical Rock Lobsters, mmm
Now remind me, what did you get for your last unload ???
