We believe that Filipinos don’t need to reinvent anything cause our cuisine has been here from the start. So we are cooking from our roots and maybe presenting it in a different way, yes. But the essence of what an adobo or what a sinigang is will always be there. Our food is more than just soy sauce and s**a, it’s a fusion of flavours and history and culture. It’s a harvest from 7,100 islands in

one plate. Being away from the Philippines we want to achieve some sort of time machine effect with each dish we serve. We will not compete with what your manang, or lola, or nanay use to make. But we want to take you back with every bite. And we hope more good stories will come from our food and your tambay experiences with us.

Thank you for the memories from our beloved Tambayan Restaurant & Grill! Although we closed our restaurant early last year in 2025, we are blessed with all of the memories we have created with you in the last 6 years. We take pride in the legacy we have left in the Melbourne Filipino music scene and the local food industry. We thank our patrons, customers, musicians, music lovers, cooks, staff, partners, suppliers and the rest of the Tambays who made Tambayan their home and a part of their lives. Until we meet again somewhere, sometime in Gods perfect time!
