Artisan Alley at Origins Market is more than just a collection of beautiful, handmade products, it’s a true collective.

Made up of over 20 talented makers, this space is run collaboratively by the artists themselves. Each member contributes their time, volunteering 4 hours each week to be in-store, helping customers, sharing stories, and keeping the space running across our full trading days, including Origins Nights.

What makes it even more special? They all know each other’s products inside and out. So when you chat to someone at the counter, you’re not just getting service you’re getting real insight from someone who understands the craft and the people behind it.

The collective is a diverse mix of creatives, artists and artisans, hobbyists, mums, grandmothers, retirees, and small business owners, all bringing something unique to the space.

Next time you wander through Artisan Alley, take a moment to say hello. You’re supporting more than a product, you’re supporting a community 🤍

Gulyarra Gabbi Djalum Kalleep - The Meeting Place of the Saltwater Camp

Designed by local Elder, Sandra Hill, the beautiful artwork featured on our foyer floor represents the long and enduring connection between the Wadandi Saltwater people to the Country / Boodja on which this venue stands.

Four Mia Mias (traditional huts) are positioned around the central design, representing the waters of Geographe Bay and the Vasse River.

The central design also symbolises a campfire - a place where friends and family come together to connect, share stories and spend time together.

Thank you to Sandra Hill for this stunning artwork that welcomes visitors to Saltwater and to Origins Market for sponsoring it.
