SOURDOUGH SUNDAY IS BACK 🥖🤎

And look what’s been baked at Mog’s overnight...

Fresh from Frugal Country Home Blog and honestly, the cabinet smells ridiculous right now. 😂

We’ve got gorgeous freshly baked sourdough loaves, including some seriously delicious flavoured and seeded varieties, PLUS Sourdough Cinny Scrolls with cream cheese frosting and Sourdough Herbed Crackers.

This is proper small-batch, country-made goodness — and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Pop in, grab a coffee, choose your loaf and maybe accidentally leave with a packet of cinny scrolls too. We fully support that decision. 😂

🌾 THE FIRST MOG’S SILAGE MEALS ARE HEADING OUT TODAY!

Packed, labelled and ready to go. ❤️

We originally put our Silage Meals menu together for local farmers and contractors needing proper, filling food through the long days of silage and harvest — but we’ve realised there’s no reason everyone else can’t get in on it too.

Our next big cook-up is this Sunday for Monday pick-up or delivery.

Because we’re already cooking a large bulk order, we can easily add individual orders to the batch — and you get the same bulk meal price.

You don’t have to be a farmer. You don’t have to be a contractor. And there’s no minimum order. Grab one for Monday night, a few for the week, or stock the freezer.

How lucky are we that a local loved the flavour of a bread that we previously stocked, hunted down a recipe that tasted like it, perfected it, hand wrote the recipe down and dropped it in for us!

What does Burra sound like?

A little while ago I posted one of my favourite Burra sounds — my singing bowl, with the galahs carrying on as they came in to roost.

But there’s a reason I’ve been thinking about the sound of our town lately.

Something VERY cool is happening in Burra this October.

Local composer Jodie O'Regan has created The Burra Orchestra Project — an extraordinary piece of music named The Burra Rhapsody- made with, by and about Burra.

Jodie has spent months listening to our town, working with our community and turning the sounds, stories and everyday objects of Burra into music.

And somehow… Mog’s is in it.

More specifically, in the orchestra. 😂

We have inspired Jodie with our early mornings and the way we welcome people to Burra. Part of our performance is to recreate the sound of frothing milk into a milk.

So yes.

On 17 October, Mog's will be standing on stage at the Burra Town Hall, making the frothing noise ... essentially spitting into someone’s coffee — professionally — totally getting away with it- as part of an orchestra.

We promise we won't test run it on your coffee before then!

Joking aside - Jodie has created something truly incredibly special about a town and community that we all adore.

We talk all the time about Burra’s buildings, landscapes and history in Mog's with locals, those staying and playing and others passing through.

This project asks us to experience our town differently.

What does Burra sound like?

And in October, we get to hear the answer.
