As the second and third generation, we’re proud to be entrusted to build upon the legacy of our parents, Ron and Marion Steinhardt, who in 1958 started cultivating their small parcel of land in Bundaberg. Today, we look forward to carrying on our family values of caring and conscious farming and sharing our sustainably grown, premium single-origin macadamias with locals, guests and customers all around the world. Guests can also visit our original orchard in Bundaberg, Queensland and take a guided tour through our trees, our multi-generational family’s story and the history of macadamia farming. Learn about how we incorporate innovation and research to drive our sustainable farming practices and ensure we produce the highest quality nuts. Also at our Visitor Experience Centre you can collect and crack your own macadamias, enjoy a complimentary tasting, browse our Farmgate Shop and peek into our Chocolate Coating Room before dining at our macadamia-inspired café, The Orchard Table.

This National Family Business Day, we celebrate a story that began with family, Australian agriculture and a belief in what could be grown on a plot of land in Bundaberg.
Today, our macadamias travel further than we ever could have imagined or dreamed of. It’s why family remains the heart of our business.
For our family, there is immense pride in seeing Macadamias Australia continue to grow, while never forgetting where we came from or our humble beginnings.
And behind our story are so many others. Families taking risks. Families pioneering. Families weathering difficult seasons. Families learning, adapting and growing.
So today, we celebrate every Australian family building something together, and thank the people who choose to support them.

Before there’s a macadamia, there’s this.
For a short time each year, our orchard transforms.
Long, delicate flowers appear amongst the trees. Bees move from blossom to blossom. And quietly, the beginnings of our next crop are taking place.
Every macadamia we grow starts as one of these tiny flowers.
From here, those successfully pollinated will begin their long journey towards becoming the macadamias we eventually harvest, crack and share with you.
It’s why flowering season feels so special to our family.
We’re not simply looking at an orchard in bloom.
We’re looking at the beginning of another harvest.
From flower to harvest, it all begins here.

Today is for the dads.

The dads who lead, teach, encourage and quietly show up for their families in a hundred different ways.

For our family, Father’s Day is a chance to slow down, spend time together and celebrate the men who mean so much to us.

A little Macadamia Nut Day inspiration for your table!

Our macadamias have a way of making even the simplest dishes feel a little more special.
These honey roasted baby carrots pair sweet, caramelised carrots with creamy goat’s cheese, fresh herbs and the unmistakable crunch of roasted macadamias. Save this one for your next Sunday roast or spring dinner.

Honey Roasted Baby Carrots with Macadamia Topping

Ingredients:
1 bunch baby Dutch carrots, peeled and trimmed
1 tbsp butter, cubed
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp raw honey
Flaky sea salt and black pepper
For the topping
⅓ cup finely chopped carrot tops or flat-leaf parsley
1½ tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
100g marinated goat’s cheese
⅓ cup roasted macadamias, roughly chopped

Method
Preheat oven to 180°C. Arrange carrots on a baking tray with butter, olive oil, honey, salt and pepper. Roast for 25 minutes, turning halfway, until tender and caramelised.

Mix the carrot tops or parsley with lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. Arrange the roasted carrots on a serving plate, spoon over the herb mixture, add goat’s cheese and finish generously with roasted macadamias.

Tomorrow, we celebrate something pretty special.
Macadamias are Australia’s native nut, with a story that began right here on our east coast millions of years ago.
For us, that story is also very much about today. The orchards, the harvests and the people who continue to grow and care for this remarkable Australian crop.
Tomorrow is Macadamia Nut Day, and we can’t wait to celebrate it with you!
