𝘼 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙩 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙤𝙙𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙛é!⛏️🤎

It was a pleasure welcoming Steven Roberts who is walking approximately 4,200 km across Australia on his journey to 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙'𝙨 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨𝙩 50𝙩𝙝.

Inspired by his father, who sadly passed away at just 50, Steve is taking on this incredible challenge to raise awareness of men's health and encourage men over 40 to look after themselves.

After 885 km on foot, Steve stopped by for a well-earned meal and a chance to recharge while enjoying the views over Broken Hill.

𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 ⛏️🤎

Last week, on 8 October, Broken Hill came together for the annual Miners Memorial Day to honour the more than 800 miners who have lost their lives since mining began in 1883.

The date marks the tragic loss of two young miners, Leopold Campbell (21) and Thomas Jordan (19), who died at the Central Mine on 8 October 1902. Their bodies were never recovered.

A moment to reflect, remember and pay tribute to the lives lost and the generations of miners who helped shape Broken Hill.

Their stories will always be part of our town. ⛏️🤎
