Sooooo ... I have had a dream that I've been working towards over the last 10 years ... it's called My Urban Village. The first step was getting my FoodVan Licketysplit Cafe off the ground and operating successfully, which I did for 3 years at the Jindalee Boat Ramp Park. I've been waiting for the right moment to launch My Urban Village and that moment is now.
The Village is a community hub for families, containing a Cafe, Creche, Retail space, Art Studio, Yoga Studio & Beauty Studio. The idea behind it is that the caregiver can drop off their kids in the Creche or at the Art Studio and while they are being occupied, the caregiver can recharge with Yoga, a coffee or some retail therapy etc. Also we'll be employing locals to work there.
It's a HUGE project and I've found the ideal location but with it being a huge project comes huge expenses which I can't do all on my own. I had planned to grow it in steps but the time has come to launch it as one. I've organised a GoFundMe to assist with being able to secure the location and start the fit-out.

"If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done before" (pretty much sums me up asking for help but I know how great it'll be for the community so putting myself out there 😬). I would love to see the Villages popping up all around the world as community is so important.
