Opened in June 2012 this is a family run business owned by Michael and daughter Courtney (Courtz). Having previously owned the restaurants "Zacks on Hawthorne" and "Cafe Hawkens" in St Lucia we are enjoying looking after the coffee needs of the lovely Carina locals on a slightly smaller scale than previous businesses. We look forward to meeting you soon and preparing a delicious Elixir Coffee along with a friendly chat and a wedge of our (quickly becoming famous!) Brownie.

You may know me from Backstreet or my cafe Badminton Brew which I sold a few years ago.

I’ve been invited by Kenrose Bakery to speak at their next event on September 22nd all about my journey as a cafe owner to working in private events for billionaires in Europe and my new business.

It’s always such a great festival!
Gabriella’s will be showcasing their wonderful wood fired Pizza. The Kenrose bakery will be working overnight (literally!) and we will be there as the local supplier of caffeine and some special treats (I’ll come up with something 😂).

WOW…Backstreet Espresso is HIRING!

It is rare but Backstreet Espresso (Carina) is currently searching for an outgoing, happy, bubbly, people person who LOVES working in hospitality…and is seeking long term employment and management experience.

Backstreet is a long-established cafe (13+ years- same owner) where our customers are our friends…and will become yours as well….it is a fun working environment with a fantastic team.

We offer 5 shifts a week and training in all aspects of the business.

The ideal applicant will have plenty of hospitality experience, coffee skills and be used to working in a high pace environment. You must have your own car.

No management experience is required but the right candidate will have the opportunity to learn and step into a management role.

The cafe is open 5:30am-12:30pm.

This position is NOT suitable to someone on a visa or working holiday.
