In 1863 Charles Baker bought the land on which The Glen Hotel stands today. He was granted a publican's license on 12 December 1865, and Bakers Hotel was officially opened for trade. In 1875 when Cobb & Co. Coaches established a change-station on their daily route from Brisbane to Southport, the hotel took on a new life, providing hot meals, cold ale, and sweet delicious treats for the long road that lay in wait. Today, Charles Baker Coffee offers daily travellers and locals with fresh filled donuts baked on site daily served alongside barista brewed espresso coffee. Conveniently located on Gaskell Street off Logan Road at Eight Mile Plains.

Jess made the short trip to Bear Bones in Fortitude Valley to learn more about the roasting process, understand the coffee we’re pouring at Charles Baker and get properly hands-on along the way.
