PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
The difference between frozen and fresh durian can be quite substantial in terms of flavour intensity, sweetness, and bitterness. Frozen durian (especially Musang King) imported into Australia is often harvested from younger trees, which typically produce a sweeter flavour profile with little or no bitter aftertaste.
The fresh D197 Musang King durian from the Newleaf (Malaysia) plantation comes from very mature trees. As such, customers should expect a full-bodied fresh durian experience with a RICH BITTERSWEET Finish.
Indicative Bitterness Scale (Subjective):
• D197 Musang King: 4-to-6 out of 10 bitterness level
• D200 Black Thorn: 2-to-4 out of 10 bitterness level
Please be mindful when ordering if you are not familiar with fresh Malaysian durians that have a rich bittersweet aftertaste.
