KANTO is a branch of Karinderia by The Filipino Street Food located at Eat Street Northshore in Hamilton, Brisbane Queensland, Australia. It is part of the The Filipino Street Food family, established in 2014. It's key mission is to promote Filipino cuisine and to become mainstream in Australia's hospitality industry. The Filipino Street Food started as a marquee food stall at Barrio Fiesta, Brisbane where Philippines independence day is celebrated & has since traded at markets and events, offering simple street foods such as charcoal grilled skewers, grilled corn, fishballs and the like. And found its temporary place at Eat Street Northshore, Hamilton, aiming to represent Filipino food. In 2017, The Filipino Street Food changed its name to KARINDERIA (๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ข, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ข ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ) by The Filipino Street Food when Eat Street relocated to a much bigger and better venue in the old Brisbane Wharf. It was given a permanent location and traded using 2x40 Foot shipping containers equipped with a commercial kitchen. The stalls front of house frontage was designed as a passenger Jeepney (๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ข ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐) to represent various ethnic people of the Philippine Islands. The Filipino Street Food was blessed during the initial COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020. It was given an opportunity, while Eat Street was shut down to find and open a small cafe in Redcliffe Peninsula, COFFEE ROUNDS CAFE servicing Redcliffe hospital and the local community. It serves locally roasted coffee, cafe meals and Karinderia signature dishes along side with it. The demand on Karinderia dishes from its followers and new followers grew. Coffee Rounds Cafe has extended its door to make room for the birth of KANTO (๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐พ๐๐ฝ๐ด๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐) by The Filipino Street Food in January 2021. Now, the The Filipino Street Food invites and welcomes you to its new found home at KANTO serving traditional home cook dishes with Filipino hospitality dining experience.
