They say time flies when you’re having fun. And my goodness, have we had SO much fun!

Six years ago, we opened the doors to Corn Street with a lot of excitement, a lot of nerves, and a simple hope to create a place where people felt welcome. What we didn’t realise at the time was just how much this cafe would become part of our lives. We spend every day here, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Over the years, Corn Street has grown alongside us. You’ve watched our team grow, you’ve met Piccolo and given him more pats than we can count (though somehow he’ll always ask for more), and now you’re watching little Saffron grow up here too (her barista debut can’t be too far away).

Some of you have been coming since day one. Some of you started as customers and became friends. Some of you have celebrated birthdays, engagements, new jobs and big milestones with us over countless coffees and brunches.

To our incredible team, past and present, thank you for caring for this place as much as we do. To our family and friends, thank you for always backing us. And to every single person who has chosen to spend part of their day with us over the years, a massive thank you.

Corn Street is what it is because of all of you.

Great food and great coffee are important, but they’re only part of the story.

What really makes Corn St special is the people who walk through our doors every day. The familiar faces, the morning coffee orders we know by heart, the quick chats across the counter, and the friendships that have been built over the years.

We love serving our community, and we’re grateful for every person who chooses to spend part of their day with us.

Our Apple Crumble Pancakes have officially entered the chat, and honestly, we’d be running here too.

Consider this your sign!

Warm cinnamon apples, buttery crumble, maple goodness, all sitting on top of the fluffiest pancakes ever. Like genuinely fluffy. Soft, airy, melt-in-your-mouth kind of fluffy, the perfect base for all the good stuff piled on top.

15 May 2021. Two people, one café, and zero idea what we were getting ourselves into.
Now somehow… a baby, a sausage dog, and five years later we’re still here. 💙

It has been a long journey filled with many highs and lows, a lot of uncertainty, a lot of “what ifs”, anxiety, sacrifices and very long days. But through all of it, we kept showing up every single day and kept believing in what Corn Street could become.

Looking back at where we started and everything this place has grown into feels pretty surreal.

Five years later — we wouldn’t change a thing.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way — our staff, customers, friends and family.

Thank you for every coffee, every breakfast, every familiar face. You’re the reason we show up every day. 💙

We’re getting in early, because the mums in our world deserve to be celebrated for more than just one day.

This one feels a little extra special to us. Fatma is such a big part of what makes Corn Street what it is. Her care, her warmth, her work ethic (she’s constantly on and wears so many hats here!!). And when you think about it, that same energy shows up in so many of the mums who walk through our doors every day.

The ones catching up over coffee, the ones juggling a million things at once, the ones creating space for everyone else before themselves, the ones wearing their own 37 hats… and somehow still making it all look effortless.

Whether you’re a mum, have a mum, or know someone who’s been like one to you, take a moment this week. Sit a little longer, order the extra coffee, share something sweet, let someone else look after you for a change.
