You gotta love a good brekkie bun. And ours is up there we reckon. As is the tasty BBQ Brekkie Burger the crew have rustled up.

Warning: These are not for everyone. Only if you like bacon, fried eggs, melted cheese, Tom sauce and other stuff like that. If you don’t like, you could just order a bun and pretend it’s one of those French pastry things. Up to you really.

But if you do like a bit of the good stuff. Get yourself a bun with a latte and really start your day.

Dan likes his Bircher. He swears by the stuff. Which is why we guess we have Bircher Muesli on the menu.

But, with all respect to the Danster, Bircher is quite a hard thing to get excited about. “Diner posts riveting stuff about muesli”, said no one ever.

So we thought let’s liven things up. And ole Google delivered.

Turns out Dan’s pet favourite was developed around 1900 by a Dr Maximilian Bircher-Brenner for patients in his Swiss sanitarium and “it is still a very popular breakfast throughout Switzerland and Germany”. As it is in Brighton too bud.

So there you go.

Someone told us that they didn’t know we served salads here at Royale. Which is fair enough as we haven’t really told anyone.

So if you like the green stuff, or the grainy stuff. We got you covered.

And you can add protein if you want. But best not to if you’re a vegetarian.

James told us last night that the Pony Boy is one of our tastiest burgers.

Ok, in full disclosure, James may be the brother of one of our crew. And maybe he did get the staff discount. But he knows burgers. For real. Unless he was maybe sucking up to Guy.

But we don’t think so.

We waffle a bit. Actually quite a lot. We go on and on about all sorts of things. Like waffles. Boy oh boy we like a good waffle.
And we like making them. We picked up our batter mix recipe from an Italian American woman named Lucia, who took a shine to Dan, many years ago when he was footloose and fancy free. So around 1991. May 7 to be precise. She scrawled the recipe in biro (that’s a pen btw) on the back of a Pantry receipt. Dan promptly lost it, but found it again this winter when he was looking through a catalogue of Poulan chainsaws from the 1970’s. There we go. Waffling again.

Do come in.

And order waffles. You won’t be disappointed. And if you are, well, take it up with Lucia. Dan may have her fax number.
