A little hello/

Hi Middle Ground fam, I’m Bec and I’ve spent a whole week now trying to figure out how to write this post!

I’ve been catering in the Highlands for three years now over at and in the last month, I’ve been lucky enough to take over this lovely space from .

Middle Ground has such a wonderful community of clever, creative people that I cannot wait to meet when I open up as Black Hen in December and whilst I’ll be mixing up the look and the menu, the vibe will remain the same. I’m really excited to be working with to keep you all caffeinated and with local amazing producers like to bring some of my favourite dishes to life.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be rebranding as Black Hen and sharing a few of the things we’ll have on offer come December.

In the meantime I’d love to hear from you! Do you have a book club/an art group/a little committee looking for somewhere to meet or any cracker suggestions for the space? Shoot me a message ✨

!! Announcement !! (A long winded one)

Beautiful beautiful MG fam, I have some exciting news. Middle Ground will be reopening oh so soon and you will be in the capable hands of the lovely and extremely talented Bec from as she will be taking over the cafe!! Bec makes the most amazingly delicious food and will be still serving your fav coffee, of course.

I am so incredibly proud of the wonderful community, together, we have all created at Middle Ground over the past two years. I watched friendships form, new faces were welcomed into a community, spots in the cafe were claimed, laughter was had daily and so much more. You all filled the space everyday with so much love, patience and compassion.
My intention for MG when opening was “to provide a space where creative energy can flow, where people can just be. Focusing on connection, to create a community” …well I think we all nailed it.

Thank you for your support, thank you for becoming my friends. I am so so grateful.
You’ll love Bec and her offerings, I’m 1000% sure of it. I look forward to seeing the MG community continue to grow.

I miss you all already. Can’t wait to see you on the other side of the counter!
