A little piece of Yangtze history…

These photos take us all the way back to 1976 — when Yangtze first opened its doors in Blackwood.

50 years later, those same doors are still open.

So much has changed over the years, but one thing hasn’t — the wonderful people who have continued to walk through our doors.

Generations of families have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, family dinners and countless ordinary nights with us. Some customers have been coming for decades, and now we’re lucky enough to see their children and grandchildren sitting at the same tables.

That’s what makes running a local family business so special.

And if there’s one thing we’ve learned over 50 years, it’s that local businesses only exist as long as their community continues to support them.

So next time you’re deciding where to have dinner, ordering takeaway, or wondering where to celebrate — remember your local businesses. Every visit really does help keep their doors open.

We’d love nothing more than to look back on photos from 2076 and say… “Can you believe Yangtze is still here?” 🥂

20 Years of JIA — Let’s Celebrate Together 🎉

Yangtze Chinese Restaurant has proudly been part of our community since the 1970s, serving up all your favourite dishes for generations.

For the past 20 years, JIA has been at the heart of it all — cooking, welcoming, and getting to know so many of you who have become more like friends than customers.
