LOOK WHAT I FOUND! ❤️

This brought back so many memories. Alan and I featured in the local paper in the early days of Amor Mexico, sharing the story of how our love of Mexican food began.

So much has happened since this photo was taken. So many meals, celebrations, friendships and wonderful people have walked through our doors.

As many of you know, Amor Mexico will be saying farewell, with our final night on 10 October.

A little update too, for everyone who has been asking about our cookbook, we’ve decided not to rush it. It will now be a 2027 project, so the recipes and stories we’ve collected over the years can be given the time they deserve.

For now, we still have 4 weeks left together. If you’ve been thinking, “We need to go back to Amor Mexico one more time,” we’d love to see you before we close. ❤️

See you soon for ONE MORE TIME ♥️

Community is about showing up, celebrating each other’s wins and growing together.

As Amor Mexico prepares to close its doors on 10 October after 22 incredible years, I’m reminded how much the people around us matter.

People often ask me, “Why Mexico?”

Years ago, Alan and I took our boys to Mexico, and I absolutely fell in love — with the colours, the food, the music, the warmth of the people and the way life seemed to revolve around family, food and celebration.

We even brought little pieces of Mexico home with us. Some of the things you’ve seen on the walls of Amor Mexico actually came back from those trips.

But what we really wanted to bring home was the feeling.

That feeling of coming together, sharing food, laughing, connecting and celebrating life. And over the years, that became such a big part of what Amor Mexico was all about. ❤️

It’s funny how one trip can influence so much of your life.

Did you know we didn’t name Amor Mexico — our community did? ❤️

When we became independent, we held a competition to find our new name. Someone suggested Amor Mexico — “Love Mexico” — and it felt just right.

Even our name was built together. ❤️

Story #1 of 22 — How It All Started ❤️

Amor Mexico was never actually the plan.

It began with Alan’s love of cooking and my love of people. And somewhere along the way, with your support, we found the courage to create something that was truly ours.

Looking back, I realise we didn’t build Amor Mexico for you.

We built it with you. ❤️
