A little update for anyone who has been wondering where Vishal has been this past week…

After a sudden bout of severe pain last week, Vishal ended up needing an emergency gallbladder removal thanks to a rather impressive 2.5cm gallstone that had been causing all the trouble!

The good news is he is recovering really well, taking things a little easier than usual, and he will be back at the restaurant tonight.

If you know Vishal, you will know how much he genuinely enjoys being at the restaurant, chatting to familiar faces and catching up with our customers. He has definitely missed seeing you all this past week.

So if you are coming in tonight, make sure you say hello. He will be very happy to be back where he belongs, surrounded by good food and our lovely customers.

A little piece of Chapati House history… 🥢❤️

Ever wondered why a North Indian restaurant has spring rolls on the menu?

It all goes back to Vishal's dad Ranjit Singh Rawat, who founded Chapati House. He used to serve spring rolls at large catering events, and people loved them so much they’d come into the restaurant asking, “Can we get those spring rolls here too?”

So, what started as a catering favourite earned a permanent spot on our menu!

Sometimes the best traditions aren’t planned… they’re created by our customers. 😊

Good news! We are open today!

The repair team was on site late last night working hard to resolve the issue. The structural repairs have now been completed, with some cosmetic touch-ups still to come.

Most importantly, the leak has been fixed and there will be no more water making its way into the dining room.

A big thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back today.

We are sad to announce that we will be closing the restaurant due to a leak in the ceiling of the seating area.
As you can see from the pictures, there is a fair bit of water coming through.
To ensure the safety of our customers and staff we will remain closed until the issue is resolved and the ceiling is reinforced.
Please follow our socials as we will be updating the progress of this situation the best we can.
