Happy World Bee Day 🐝

At Moraea Farm, the bees were always part of the plan to form an integral part of our garden, ecosystem and ultimately our menu at Sara.

This week was a big milestone for us. We harvested our first 30kg of honey and honeycomb - and our five hives already finding its way through everything Sara does as we prepare for launch.

Here’s to the bees, the land, and the people who tend to both.

The journey to get to Sara is all part of the experience 🌿

Turn out of Berry onto a beautiful winding country road toward Moraea Farm. Once you’ve found the sign, feel the gravel beneath the tyres, the towering trees overhead, gardens spilling into pathways and the feeling that you’ve stumbled upon somewhere beautifully hidden.

Then, through the greenery, Sara reveals itself. A dining experience shaped by the land and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by nature. 🍃

We are so fortunate to call the South Coast home. It is one of the most extraordinary stretches of coastline in Australia, where the waters are pristine and the people who work it have been doing so for generations.

In crafting our opening menu, we’ve built relationships with a small group of local fishers and growers (and those a bit further afar) who share our belief that the best seafood is the kind caught close, handled with care, and served with honesty.

For us, this isn’t just about proximity to great product. It’s about trust, tides, and a deep respect for the ocean and the people who know it best.
