Come and enjoy a slow weekend with us 🌷🌿

Berry is such a beautiful little town and this month there is even more reason to visit. Next week from the 15th October until the 18th October, the Berry Gardens Festival will take place ~ run by the Berry & District Garden Club.

This is an opportunity to take a stroll amongst Berry’s finest gardens with proceeds going to numerous community projects. At the very same time, during October we have Pink Up Berry where $1 from every cupcake sold from our little tea shop will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.

It’s all happening this month! Come on by for tea and a cupcake and enjoy the slower pace 🩷

When you visit The Berry Tea Shop, you’re getting the best on offer. Our teas are the highest quality and blended by hand. Our tea bags are specifically chosen to ensure the aroma and flavour carry through. Our cakes and jams are made in-house. Our crockery and cutlery are sourced specifically to create an experience. Our team are here to turn your experience into one that leaves you feeling like family.

We want only the best, so we ensure we get the best. This is what it means to visit our humble little shop in Berry.

Have you noticed that our shop is dressed pretty in pink? 🎀🌸

Throughout the month of October the whole of Berry will be too and there’s a very good reason why. We all gather together in community to donate to the McGrath foundation to support those who are navigating breast cancer.

For every cupcake sold this month $1 will be donated to the foundation. If there’s any time to make a trip to Berry, this is it. 💗 We hope to see you and your loved ones this month as we come together to raise funds.

Step inside our tea emporium and browse our shelves of hand-blended loose leaf teas and tea wares, then enjoy some scones or one of our handmade cakes with a pot of something lovely. We’ve been blending tea here in Berry since 2010, and we still think it’s the best job in the world.

SAVE THIS POST | Is there anything better than taking a moment with a fresh cup of tea? 🍃☕

When it comes to green tea, brewing at around 80°C rather than using boiling water helps you get the most from your leaves. This offers a balanced extraction with a smooth, floral taste rather than the bitterness and astringency that can come from over-extraction.

Green tea leaves are delicate and using boiling water on them can be too aggressive, pulling out compounds that overpower the tea and leave your palate feeling confused.

So next time you brew green tea, add some cool water on the leaves first or set your kettle to 80°C before pouring. Your leaves will thank you and a perhaps a new love for green tea will develop 🍵
