Big Dog BBQ Berowra We are a Texas style bbq pop-up serving the Berowra area with brisket, pork butt and beans! Quite fond of knocking out a pizza too :)

Menu posted in the weeks leading up to the cook date - typically a Saturday afternoon. Platters are set consist of 3 meats and 3 sides, plus all the extras you need. Menu changing up monthly, to keep it interesting for everyone. If you need, we can scale up your meal to suit 6, or you can add on some schmancy soft drinks for the full USA BBQ experience. Spots are limited, so please get in early! Closer to the date, we'll confirm a time for your order to be ready. Thanks to the local food group for all of their support! Due to Council regulations, no cash on premises. As such, we need pre-paid pre-orders please. This helps us to plan also, so no one misses out. Thanks for your understanding!

Roast pork and broccolini roll for lunch… Pork was sliced and heated in beef broth, with various herbs thrown in (chilli, fennel, parsley etc). Greens were cooked with jalapeño oil, S&P and garlic.

Added cheese and dipped one of them too - came up pretty damn sweet. I can still taste the garlic and chilli posting this 🙂

Dialled in and is absolutely a menu option for the next pop up. Brisket bacon roll coming later today - need a rest first!

Wanted to try out a new sandwich recipe tomorrow for lunch - Italian pork and rabe. Best way to do that is to cook a full pork roast the night before and use a deli slicer on the leftovers 🙂

Had a fun time knocking this spread together for the family lunch today…

Boerewors sausage, pork belly with peach and asado beef ribs. That’s a lot of different cook times and methods to run with, went well with some help 🙂

We had corn, pumpkin and bread - and a dialled in version of the broccolini from yesterday: left it with a bit more tooth to it.

There’s also dill pickle sauerkraut, beet kraut and hot giardiniera - all from small batch, Sydney based makers . They were also bloody delicious - that pickle kraut would be mean on a pastrami sanga for sure.

Kids had started eating the first things before the last things hit the table, so that’s a good sign.

Hatched a plan for the future overnight, which is exciting enough - whether it happens or not 🙂. Stay golden!

Been a little quiet on the cooking front lately - there's reasons, but I won't go in to that now...

What I will say is watch this space - I'm trying a new recipe Friday (photos soon!) which may well appear at a bbq pop up.

There are a couple of invites out in the ether, so very much hoping to light the fires and slang some brisket very soon.

In the meantime, check out this photo of actual food - an Eddie-Lu sanga with salsa verde and charred peppers - AI can't make something look this ugly, AND this delicious!

Snuck in a quick dust off at last Sunday’s Berowra Monthly Jam - which is a ripping local event, definitely recommend checking it out if you haven’t done so already!

As you can see, we’ve nailed looking good - now to work on sounding good 🙂
