Country Cottage… On the drawing board has been this beautiful cottage in Violet Town.

The brief? An arrival garden befitting the beautiful cottage. A productive garden with permaculture principles at its core, maximising the space and introducing flow to the back of the property. A native meadow planting and fire pit space for meditation and the intention of attracting more wildlife through selecting the right plants for place.

This week final master concepts were delivered alongside visuals in 3D. Visualising your plans in 3D provides an opportunity to ‘see’ your design come to life. Thanks to the team at Hanna Digital Design

A posy for home or someone you love… The Hellebores (Winter Roses) are naturally a little droopy, nodding their delicate little heads - strong and delicate at the same time 😊 one of jonquils and hellebores too. The smell of the jonquils divisive - some love them, some can’t stand them. Which camp are you in?! At The Merchant Benalla today.

The Elegant Country Garden

Golden light, sculptural canopies and spaces designed to slow the pace.

This garden was designed to celebrate what existed then enhance it - a challenge gratefully accepted. A series of quiet outdoor rooms now exist - places to gather, wander and pause beneath the trees, watch the sunset, the grandkids or the starry night sky.

From the pleached Acer’s creating a living pergola, to what will become the vine-covered gathering and firepit space, every element was designed to feel timeless, layered and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.

A garden that changes beautifully with the seasons, yet always feels calm, grounded and welcoming. The client response? “Our garden is magnificent.”

There’s something quietly rewarding about growing flowers from seed… The anticipation, the first tiny shoots, the patience… and then suddenly, armfuls of blooms grown from something so small.

This season we’re sowing with intention: delicate fillers, textural foliage, and cut flowers that will bring joy in the months ahead for our posies and seasonal subscriptions. 💚🌱

I’m trialling the as my seed starting at scale. It’ll keep them covered from critters, allow light and incubation, and hopefully enable transplanting direct to the field if I have my timing right. Great height to pot up from if they need it. 😊
