MESMERIC ART CLUB [SuNdaY SeSsiOn 0.1] 💛🖤 WHAT A DAY.

A huge thank you to everyone who came down, picked up a pen, some paint or whatever was within reach, and threw themselves into the MESMERIC experience.

The turnout was fantastic, the feedback was equally as great, and seeing so many people get completely absorbed in the process was exactly what we hoped for.

You got messy.
You got hypnotic.
You got weirdly and wonderfully into it!

Massive thanks to The Bellingen Brewing Co. and their brilliant staff for having us, supporting the idea and helping make the whole thing happen.

And most importantly, thank you to every single person who showed up, made something, encouraged someone else, had a drink, had a laugh and supported the event. You turned a bunch of little individual artworks into one big shared experience.

And because we couldn’t bear to leave all that glorious visual chaos scattered across separate canvases, we collaged the artwork from the day into this giant MESMERIC patchwork. Every square is its own little moment, but together it becomes a snapshot of the whole day. ⚡️🌀🍄

Judging by the response, MESMERIC definitely isn’t finished yet.

We can’t wait to do it again.

MESMERIC ART CLUB [SuNdaY SeSsiOn 0.1] 🌀

Meet your art guide: BlaqueSheep Art

I’m Jamie, the artist behind BlaqueSheep Art, and most of the art I create begins without me really knowing what it is going to become.

I’m an intuitive artist.

My process isn’t usually to meticulously plan a finished piece, sketch every detail and then reproduce exactly what I had in mind.

I start with:

A line.
A shape.
A pattern.
A colour.
A feeling.

Then I respond to what happens next.

One mark suggests another. Something gets covered. Something unexpected becomes the most interesting part. A mistake becomes a doorway. The artwork slowly starts revealing its own language.

For me, the process is the art.

And that is the process I’ll be sharing with you at MESMERIC ART CLUB.

Rather than sitting down with an image you’re expected to copy, we’re going to take an intuitive art journey together.

We’ll explore repetition, pattern, geometric forms, zentangle-inspired mark-making and instinct while the music moves through prog, ambient, ritual, melodic and hypnotic techno.

You’ll work across three connected 10cm canvases, allowing each piece to evolve from the one before it.

You don’t need to know what you’re making when you begin.

In fact, Its better if you don't.

This is about getting out of the part of your brain that asks “Am I doing this right?” and into the part that asks:

“What happens if I follow this?”

Listen to the music.
Follow the pattern.
Change direction when it feels right.
Let the artwork surprise you.

By the end, you won’t just have made three little paintings.

You’ll have travelled somewhere through them.
