I’ve been reflecting on this little business of mine.
What it is.
What it isn’t.
What I can give.
And, perhaps more importantly, what I can’t.
So, in the spirit of keeping things real… 🤍
Daily coffee drinkers… I’m probably not your person.
I open three days a week (give or take) and sometimes I close unexpectedly. You need someone steadfast, dependable and there every morning. I completely understand that.
Second coffee of the day people… 👋 Hi!
Coffee of convenience? Welcome.
(The Canning St specialists can take their time 😉)
Bagel enthusiasts? You’ve come to the right place ♥️🥯♥️
I’ve learnt to be honest about who I am and what I can offer.
My first priority will always be my family - my three beautiful boys, who all have additional needs.
And while I’m here, hello the the neurodivergent community. My fellow spicy folk are always welcome, no masking required.
It’s no secret, I’m not the fastest 😅
I take the orders, make the coffee, cook the bagels… the buck starts and ends with me.
I’m not particularly delicate either. “Rustic” feels like a fair description 🫣
I know my shortcomings. I’m sure you do too. And that’s okay.
Because what I can offer is genuine care.
I care about your experience.
I care about value for money.
I care that you genuinely enjoy what you’ve ordered.
I care that you leave happier than when you arrived.
I care about creating a space where everyone feels safe, comfortable and welcome.
The café might not always be open, but I’m still here.
Our Handmade for Home menu, Bagel Boxes and Bounty Baskets are available all year round, so even when the doors are closed, there’s still a little piece of us available.
This year marks 12 years since I first opened.
To every single person who has bought a coffee, shared a bagel, placed an order, recommended me to a friend, or simply cheered me on ✨thank you✨
Your support has allowed me to build a business that works around the people who matter most to me.
And for that, I’ll always be grateful 💖
