What brings you back to Binna Burra?

For some, it’s a favourite walking track.

For others, it’s a family tradition, a childhood holiday, lunch at the Tea House, a wedding, a weekend away or simply that first glimpse across the valleys when you arrive on the mountain.

The Binna Burra Tea House has been part of a mountain day out for generations.

Drop in before you hit the tracks, come back hungry afterwards, or forget the walking altogether and simply find yourself a table with a view.

Blue skies, warmer days and views like this. It’s starting to feel very much like spring on the mountain.

The change of season brings fresh growth, more wildlife activity and a pretty good excuse to spend a day outdoors at Binna Burra.

Walk a track, find a favourite lookout, stop for something at the Tea House or simply take your time and enjoy the view.

Not a bad way to spend a spring day.

Seven years past and seven years ahead.

On 8 September, almost 200 Binna Burra shareholders gathered for a special preview of the new Lodge and accommodation nearing completion at Mt Roberts.

The date carried particular significance. It marked seven years since the Black Summer bushfires destroyed the historic Lodge and cabin accommodation.

The afternoon was a chance to reflect on what has been lost, recognise the extraordinary contribution of so many people to Binna Burra’s recovery, and look ahead to what comes next.

After seven years focused on recovery, our attention now turns towards the next seven and Binna Burra’s centenary in 2033.

Designed to celebrate Binna Burra's heritage while embracing sustainability and the surrounding landscape, the new Lodge will offer a truly unique rainforest experience for future generations.

Thanks again to the team from iQ Construct for their hard work and commitment to this project.

Binna Burra Lodge Ltd acknowledges the substantial funding support of the Queensland Government in rebuilding a replacement lodge and accommodation within the Binna Burra Cultural Landscape.

One of the locals dropped by for the Shareholder Event on Tuesday.

This little visitor was captured at Coomera Terrace, taking in one of those spectacular Binna Burra views that so many of us have been looking forward to seeing again.

After seven years of rebuilding and anticipation, it felt pretty special to have shareholders back on the mountain, gathering at the new Lodge and enjoying familiar places like Coomera Terrace once more.

And apparently, word had already spread among the locals.

Some views never get old. 😎

After a very special day at Binna Burra, some of our team took a moment at Coomera Terrace to watch the sun go down and reflect on just how far we’ve come.

With the new Lodge nearing completion, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes and plenty to be excited about. Sometimes it’s good to stop, take in one of those famous Binna Burra views and appreciate the progress being made.

A little piece of Binna Burra history has found a new voice.

The historic dinner bell discovered amongst the ashes following the 2019 bushfire has inspired a new children’s book, Binna Burra Bell.

Written by Catherine McLeod and beautifully illustrated by Dr Lucila Zentner, the book shares a story of Binna Burra, recovery and hope with a new generation.

The book will be officially launched today, 8 September, with a special reading at Beechmont Primary School.
